SUPPORTING COMMUNITY
Community service is at the very heart of The American Legion’s core beliefs
The American Legion recognizes that the community is an important part of our American way of life and in many communities, the Legion post takes a leadership role in community betterment.
Post 67 has been instrumental in the development of Puyallup's Veteran's Park in northeast downtown area. Their efforts resulted in new picnic structures, tables, and BBQs. Bathrooms have been installed and a flag burn pit is currently in development.
ADVOCATING PATRIOTISM AND HONOR
We advocate patriotism and honor by recognizing veterans from all wars and conflicts. Supporting veteran events in the local community.
Further, we are in the process of building a burn pit at the Veteran's Park in order to retire American Flags that have become unserviceable. The burn pit will allow the retirement of Flags in the public with respectful and honorable rites.
HELPING VETERANS
We have several Accredited American Legion service officers that are specially trained to provide expert assistance, free of charge, to veterans and their families.
While the majority of a service officer’s work involves application for VA disability benefits, these compassionate professionals also provide information, referrals and resources on education, employment and business, death benefits and other important topics.
